After lots of consideration and option weighing we’ve decided to call it a day here at Village Records. When we started offering mail order twenty years ago the theme song around here was “The Road Goes On Forever, And The Party Never Ends.” However, the past couple of years it has been “More Miles Than Money.” In our lives we do lots of things out of kindness, obligation and love, but losing money simply cannot be one of them. So while what we do is still profitable, it’s not sustainable. Everything you need to know about business can be found in the numbers, they simply tell the tale with no filter and ultimately write the book. No amount of enthusiasm, hope, new ideas, plan b’s or anything else can change that. We need to quit while we’re ahead, not when we’re hopelessly behind with no timeouts. The September mailer will be our last one. The site will likely stay open through the end of October for customers that want to augment their collections from our catalog. We will retain most of the staff through the end of September. If things go the way we want you will notice little difference until one day we will just be gone and join the many other music stores that have gone before. You might want to take one last look at our offerings since many will revert back to the artist and at that point you will only be able to buy them directly from them on the road......«
Tom Skjeklesæther: 2014-07-08 10:35		Det fantastiske er at noen ser på dette som utvikling. Det er bare trist, trist,trist. Først ryker folks vilje til å betale for innspilt musikk. Dernest kommer folk til å forlange å få livemusikken gratis..
Tom Skjeklesæther: 2014-07-08 10:40		Noen som vet hvorfor festivalen Putte i Parken i Karlstad, nå i helga, var et gratis arrangement? Så Ulf Lundell foran et stort, men ikke spesielt interessert publikum der på lørdag.
